If you want to publish some songs before the whole album goes live as a single format, you must distribute them one by one, separately.
As is explained in our Help Center, the channels do not allow to change the number of tracks either the order of them once a release is distributed, so it's not posible to add more tracks in a release already distributed.
How to distribute a single?
You have to click on 'Create a release' button and define its format through tab 1. Info Album in 'Album format' section. Select single format and go on with the distribution.
Please, remind that to distribute a single, Title, artist name and version must be the same on album and track level.
How to add singles already distributed to the new album?
When creating the album, you will not need to create again all the tracks. Those that have already been distributed can be added from your catalog, thus maintaining the ISRC codes and the streams in the channels.
If you have any doubts about how to do it, you can follow the following steps:
- Go to "Create a release".
- Enter the "Release Title" and select "Create release".
- Go to the tab "3. Tracks".
- In "Add More Tracks" select "From Catalog".
- This is how the tracks that have already been created and / or previously distributed will appear. You just have to click the "+" button to add them to the release.
- The new songs will have to be created by adding them from your computer.
Can I take advantage of the same UPC code?
No. Each single/EP/album is treated as a unique product with its own UPC code. If later you want to distribute the whole album, you will have to create a new release separately.
Will the tracks already distributed be charged to me again?
No, they are already part of your catalog and they already have the ISRC codes assigned. You will only be charged for new tracks that you upload from your computer.
Can I remove the singles without removing the album?
As the singles are published on one side and the entire album on the other, they are treated as independent products, and you can take down the singles if you wish without affecting the album.
