ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) code, is the internationally recognized identification tool for sound and music video recordings. It is administrated by the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry). Digital channels and digital platforms as well as La Cupula Music use ISRC codes to track each song, both during the distribution process and the sales management. This code is included (embedded) during the mastering and it's usually the label the one that designates what ISRC code is embed.
In Spain, the organization that manages it is called AGEDI (Asociación de Gestión de Derechos Intelectuales) AGEDI is in charge of providing a base code for labels. This way they can generate ISRC codes and assign them to the masters. Organizations such as AGEDI use ISRC codes to identify the public use from each song and calculate the generated rights.
La Cupula Music is an AGEDI authorized agent in Spain and from R.I.A.A. in the United States, so we have the legal authority to assign valid ISRC codes. The ISRC code assignment is free for the clients who digitally distribute their release at least to one channel.
