The UPC (Universal Product Code) or EAN (European Article Numbers) is the code that identifies a product internationally. The most common name for these codes is "barcode", especially when printed on the product. In the case of digital music, the channels use these codes to be able to identify and report all the digital sales of each Album, EP or Single that you distribute.
As additional information, this is the structure of these codes:
- Country: XX
- Company: X00
- Year: 00
- Serial number: 00000
This structure results in the numerical sequence that you can find linked to each content that has been distributed: XXX000000000.
Finally, it should be noted that the UPC code used for physical distribution cannot be the same as that used for digital distribution, and vice versa. For digital distribution, we assign you this and the other codes free of charge, during the distribution process.
About the service:
If you want your ISRC and UPC codes, we can assign them. If you have not yet created a distribution account, you can do it for free in our Digital Distribution system. The digital distribution of your music is a crucial value in your career, as well as the manufacture of CDs, the manufacture of vinyl, graphic design, merchandising, the production of videoclips or the musical promotion of your work.
