Due to the User Generated Content nature of the Youtube service and the effort of La Cupula Music together with the channel to fight copyright infringements and abusive usage, the distribution of content to Content ID is subject to a previous label approval.
As the Label Approval vary depending on each DSP requirement, here below we detail how it works: Channels requiring Label Authorization.
The Content-ID Label Approval process is similar to any other content validation managed by the Quality Control team to check that the label meets the necessary set of requirements to be able to distribute to the channel. Those criteria have been defined following YouTube Content ID guidelines.
Follow the steps below to apply for a Youtube Content ID on your label:
- Go to Catalog>Labels and search your label. Once you're on your label's page, go to the tab Permissions and request permission for Youtube Content ID.
- Fill in this form: Form Content ID
- The form will be reviewed by the QC team, who will check and validate the request.
- If the form is complete and the minimum required criteria are met, the Label will be approved within 5 business days.
- You will receive the confirmation of approval or not in the same ticket as the request.
The form requests the following information:
|Public / Default labels aren't eligible for the ContentID label approval
|La Cupula Music
|Label link on La Cupula Music platform
|Find the information on Catalog > Labels (click on the label and copy the link)
|Label’s official website
|Brief catalogue description and artists’ roster/list
|This information should be available on the Label tab on the platform.
|Share a description. Any information that can support and explain the plan and trajectory of a label will be useful. Moreover, mention Artists that are/are going to be represented.
|Official video content available on YouTube (links)
|Artists represented by the label should already have their own content available on YouTube (video clips, live performances, etc.)
|Share Links of official pages and videos - a minimum of 50% of the artists represented has to be indicated
|Proven previous distribution to other DSPs
|The label should already have distributed the content to other DSPs through La Cupula Music (at least main channels like Spotify and Apple Music)
|Links of La Cupula Music platform of the content distributed required or from the main DSP
|Verified profiles on digital stores and streaming services
|A legitimate label should have profiles verified on the main stores, as well as of its artists
|Social media presence
|Any label and its artist who's big enough to need the protection of their content on YouTube should have social media presence with healthy organic behaviour.
|Is this content going to be promoted online?
|This is very important information as some pitching services can lead to abusive behaviour/click fraud / artificial streaming.
|Please share relevant information (like what is the pr company, the type of service, etc)
Term for Validation
Since submission, it can take up to 5 business days to validate a label request. The review and validation are strictly related with:
- Consistency and entirety of the information shared via the form: the information has to be complete and revenue information is mandatory.
It is highly recommended to fill out the form providing as detailed information as possible. In case of incomplete or missing information in the form, the 5-days term for review is not guaranteed. Moreover, in the case of missing information, the request will likely be rejected.
These measures are meant to act as a filter of the type and quality of a label submitted and make the validation phase as smooth as possible. We want the information shared about the label to be useful for La Cupula Music to get to better know our users and collaborate together towards a healthy and successful catalogue.
