YouTube has recently launched its own streaming platform under the name of YouTube Music, which you can access by clicking here or through its application for mobile devices.
Submitting your album to YouTube Music allows you to publish your music as an "art track". An art track is a song with an image automatically generated for YouTube. It is made up of the sound recording itself, the album art and the metadata about the sound recording that you have uploaded to your user accounts, such as the artist's title and name.
Why do videos appear on YouTube that I have not uploaded?
YouTube Music stores all the content distributed to you on YouTube in the form of an art track. Art tracks are automatically generated still image videos that are created when you distribute to the Youtube Music channel.
If you do not want these videos to be available, you should avoid selecting this channel when you are going to distribute these releases. And if you have already distributed them, you can only takedown them from Youtube Music so that the video is no longer available.
Can I put these automatically generated videos on my YouTube channel?
By default, YouTube Music, by storing your content on YouTube, will send your content to one of these three channels:
- "Various Artists - Topic": You can access it by clicking here.
- "(Artist name) - Topic": This is a channel also created automatically by YouTube where the auto-generated videos of a single artist are stored.
- Your personal channel: YouTube will prioritise trying to sync self-generated videos with your channel.
Despite the latter, YouTube cannot always find the user channels corresponding to each release, so you can request that these self-generated videos appear or synchronise with your YouTube channel by contacting us through support@lacupulamusic.com.
