The roles of artists that you can choose when adding an artist to your album or track are the following:
Main artist attributed to the album. In most stores, this indicates whether the album appears on the artist's page in the store. Usually, there are one or two leading artists and several supporting artist artists (see below). At least one artist must be designated as the main artist.
"Performer" indicates a performer who has collaborated on the album. In the case of a group for example, the name of the group is "Primary" and the individual members can be "Performers".
Indicates the producer of the album.
With this role you can indicate who made a remix of an album or track, if applicable.
The composer of the album or track. For works with classical genre it is mandatory to indicate one or several composers at the album level (more info in our Style and Format Guide for Classical Music)
Author refers to the lyricist: the one who makes the lyrics of a song.
Publishing company where copyright has been assigned for music.
If the album or a track has the participation of an external artist, the guest artist is usually indicated with ¨featuring¨. The featuring artist will appear on the album or track next to the name of the main artist.
If there is an artist who collaborates on an album and this artist is considered more famous than the main artist, the "With" annotation is often used. This artist will appear in the album or track next to the name of the main artist.
